Will he die or won’t he? Fans of NBC’s Heroes know that the ultimate fate of Nathan Petrellie has been up in the air all season, stemming from the events of last season’s finale. Now, the network is promising the final answer to that question. Which means a lot, considering death is about as liquid on Heroes as most daytime soaps.

NBC describes the episode as such:

Samuel stars to see his vision take shape – H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) is greeted by some unexpected visitors and Samuel’s (Robert Knepper) grand plan begins to come to fruition. Meanwhile, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) struggles to accept the truth and takes extreme measures to get what he wants. Elsewhere, Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) journey leads her to an unexpected destination. Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto and Cristine Rose also star. Jimmy Jean-Louis, David H. Lawrence XVII, Madeline Zima, Dawn Olivieri, Todd Stashwick and Elisabeth Rohm guest star.

David H. Lawrence XVII? Could the Puppetmaster be returning? There’s also a distinctive lack of mention regarding Nathan’s ongoing internal struggle with Sylar for the body they both now control. With Nathan’s body on ice, a resurrection remains a possibility, but he could just as easily go into the night.

File this one under ridiculous rumors.

One might have assumed that Hayden Panettiere and boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia amicably split, but a new story makes you wonder. It is now rumored that Hayden is scheming to get her Heroes co-star kicked off of the show. The news was broken by a supposed close friend of Hayden who told Ok Magazine She refuses to be on the set at the same time as him, and added, She is making it difficult for everyone involved.

An interesting angle to the showdown (if you can call it a showdown) was revealed by Panettieres pal that Milo (who is 31 and presumably more mature) on the other hand is not resorting to such low levels. The source said: Hes not going to play any games or stoop to her level.

It seems though that Hayden has been on edge of late as she reportedly lost her cool at a fundraiser gala in Hawaii this weekend, blasting a reporter for touching her shoulder. The Heroes star allegedly yelled back up to photographers as she was walking the red carpet at a charity event on Sunday. The 19-year-old then barked, “Dont you ever touch me,” to a reporter who had tapped her on the shoulder to ask for an interview, before telling the on-looking press, You all make my life miserable, according to Us Weekly magazine.

This could be bad news for “Heroes” fans. Real bad news. Sources at NBC have told Airlock Alpha that the inevitable is finally happening: Networks executives will ask “Heroes” producers to wind the series down, according to rumors, possibly with an overall finale by May.

“There isn’t much happening with this show in terms of audience, and giving it a ‘final chapter’ feel is something the network is considering to help allow the show to go out with a bang,” said the source, who asked not to be identified.

NBC, however, has denied such conversations are taking place. “There have not been any discussions about this being the last season,” according to a network spokesman.

“Heroes” began in 2006 as NBC’s most buzzed show, and wowed both audiences and critics through the first season. However, Season 2 took a slow start creatively, likely not helped with the departure of producers like Bryan Fuller (who had left to run “Pushing Daisies” on ABC).

While the audience stuck it out in the beginning, that started to change by mid-season when the audience erosion began. It finished its second season with a 6.6 rating/10 share, however, second only to “Lost” among averages of overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co. for network genre shows.

However, by the 2008-09 season, “Heroes” fell to fifth among network genre shows, with a 4.7/7 average, down nearly 29 percent from the year before.

This year after seven episodes, “Heroes” is averaging a 3.6/5, more than 23 percent off from last year, and 45 percent off its pace from the second season. It’s currently averaging as NBC’s lowest-rated outing on Monday behind the 3.7/6 average of the now-canceled “Trauma” and the 4.4/7 of “The Jay Leno Show.”

Of course, in the “Jay Leno” instance, his numbers were artificially boosted by an 11.0/18 premiere the week before the fourth season of “Heroes” started, and fell to a 3.8/6 the following week, and has hovered just above the 3.0 household rating mark ever since.

“Heroes” might not be the only one saying good-bye this season. With NBC looking for a firm finish in fourth place among all the networks once again, the new guard coming in is looking to really change things up, including possibly a completely revamped lineup that could include the reduction of hours devoted to “Jay Leno.”

According to this source, “Heroes” is just not part of that mode.

“To keep a show like this going despite its numbers requires some nostalgic connection to it, and while there are a lot of people here who were part of bringing ‘Heroes’ to the air, they are not in the decision-making capacities,” the source said.

One thing to stress, however, is that no final decision has been made yet, and likely won’t be made until closer to mid-season. The source was not even clear if a wrap-up directive had been issued to “Heroes” quite yet. If it hasn’t, it will.

“I don’t think this should surprise anybody,” the source said. “The writing has been on the wall for some time.”

None of this has been confirmed by NBC quite yet, and should be treated as any rumor would.

I have added screen captures from the latest episode of “Heroes” titled, Once Upon a Time in Texas. Overall, it was a good episode. I liked seeing Charlie (Jayma Mays) return as Hiro’s love interest. Also, Samuel (Robert Knepper) did a fabulous job, he plays creepy-kind villan so well. Love him on the show. Although, Hayden has a small role on the episode, it was nice seeing her with Noah. I love all scenes of them together. <3

The once mighty, high flying Heroes TV series is now on the verge of a cliff-hanger it may not survive—cancelation. Heroes hit the air waves with all of the subtly of the Incredible Hulk in a china shop— it was a break-out hit.

When Heroes hit the scene it got a lot of hype and was declared the most innovative series to hit the small screen in years. Critics loved the show, and it appeared that fans did too. Even the hard to please fanboys (and girls); people who eat, breathe, sleep comic books, gave the series a big thumbs-up. Heroes premiered on NBC in 2006, and received very respectable ratings, a little over 14 million, becoming the highest rated dramatic series NBC had in five years.

However, Heroes’ ratings have steadily declined over the past three years and the show is steadily loosing its audience. According to Nielsen Ratings Systems, Heroes is now one of NBC’s lowest-rated shows. “There isn’t much happening with the show in terms of audience, and giving it a ‘final chapter’ feel is something the network is considering to help allow the show to go out with a bang,” an NBC source told AirlockAlpha.com.

According to inside sources, NBC is pressuring the producers to start winding down the series and prepare a season finale. Officially, the peacock network claims that they have not made any final decision regarding the fate of Heroes at this time.

Will Heroes make it to a fifth season? It all rests on the shoulders of the writers and the fans.

    CONTAINS SPOILERS BELOW

As I have been teasing for weeks, Heroes is killing off a major character later this season. The death is a huge twist for the show so I didn’t want to ruin the surprise for you, but now that another outlet has leaked the secret, it’s time for me to reveal the truth:

Adrian Pasdar’s Nathan Petrelli is the major character death happening on Heroes this season, and no, he wasn’t told he was getting fired, he learned about it from a script. But what about reports from fellow Heroes castmembers that the Petrelli brothers were definitely safe?

After Heroes star Greg Grunberg recently told a radio station that Nathan and Peter weren’t the Heroes death, I doubled back with my source and he confirmed, “I know Adrian is getting killed off and was pissed about it because they didn’t tell him…Greg could be talking about another death but I think he’s probably covering and throwing fans off.”

And of course, Greg certainly doesn’t want to meet the same fate!

What do you think of the news that Adrian Pasdar is being killed off Heroes for good? Shocking since he’s one of the major original players? Or, in the words of a certain Brazilian television aficionado I know: “Again? How many times have they killed that guy on that show?”
